How do you balance work and home life?

Work and home life are things that takes time equally either you believe it or not I believe doing your work diligently will makes you organized for a better home life and social relationships and interactions. Some people believe you can’t have that balance between home life and work while I believe that balance should be established so as not to loose one for the other. You may find that if you lean too much on one of them the chances of losing the other is so high.

First start by setting boundaries let it be that if you’re not working from home you don’t carry work home this requires time management as you have to do all that is required of you so that you can spend quality time with your loved ones. This also includes not taking your home frustrations and feelings to work as this will make you mood less for the day and inturn you might carry work home. As my father used to say ” if you want to have a good home life and work life the moment you step out of the gate of your house you leave your home life there and when you also step out of your office you leave your work there”
Second, know what entails your work and home life. Someone will ask how about business owners and those working from?. There are the people who work more hours compared to the rest they put in 10 to 12 hours daily to get things done. But now the fact that you work from home those 12 hours can also be used to experience interactions with family and friends by designating one hour break after every three hours to spend time with them. There alot of divorces and separation which could be avoided by that one hour break for your family.

Lastly be discipline and consistent in the priorities you’ve set. Ask yourself is it worthy to loose my family for six figures, is it worthy for my kids to grow up with absentee father or mother. If you ask many kids what they would prefer between gift and quality time with parents you will realize spending time with parents take the day . I may not know what entails your work and home life, you know the datails better but have a meeting with yourself and analyze changes that need to be made and make the adjustments. Choose to have a healthy social, mental, spiritual and work relationship by setting your priorities right.
